20 Αυγ 2023 · You need to loosen the 2 bolts on the center column plate (the one that is attached to the larger 3 bolt firewall plate) and try to push the column down a little to get what you are after.
15 Μαρ 2017 · Bottom left: The steering shaft slides into the bearing without trouble. Bottom center and right: The bearing can only go into the column one-way thanks to a key way. A pair of self-tapping screws secures it in place.
17 Απρ 2017 · The steering column in my 71 D200 auto flops all over the place at the top side by the turn signal switch. I'm thinking it's the upper column bushing/bearing. I've never had one of these apart so does anyone have a detailed disassembly of one with pics or have a shop exploded diagram so I can get an idea of what might be the cause of this issue?
25 Ιουν 2017 · The upper bearing is just below the snap ring. It's encased in a rubber isolator and should pop out of the back side. Once those are removed the upper section can slide off the shaft. However, it is a slight press fit (bearing is pressed over splines) so it may not just slide off - especially if it's never been off. You may get lucky wiggling ...

19 Σεπ 2022 · The original steering shaft is supported at the top by the upper column bearing and the coupler/steering box at the bottom end. This system means the column does not need a bearing at or near the firewall.
11 Απρ 2019 · Contents of the rebuild kit, the pin on the steering shave is good so I'm not replacing that (and this column isn't being used), not sure what the tiny pin is for and the roll pin is the one used in installing the column in the car.
