22 Μαρ 2020 · With 1,295 kilograms the 993 GT2 was more than 200 kilograms lighter than the Turbo! Thanks to that, the GT2 is the lightest, most powerful, quickest and fastest Porsche 993. Not a single aircooled Porsche can come close to matching the measured 3.9 seconds from 0-62 mph and 184 mph top speed.
Designed to compete in FIA GT1, it incorporated a twin turbocharged 3.6L flat-6 engine rated at a full 600 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque. The 911 GT2, utilizing a steel 993 Twin Turbo chassis with modifications for racing, scored numerous victories in a wide variety of racing venues.
The 993 Turbo engines are ridiculously heavy (589lbs), and the only real difference between the air-cooled and water-cooled chassis in terms of weight is the number of heat exchangers and density of water versus oil.
