American wire gauge size calculator and chart.
The following sheet metal gauge size reference chart gives the weight and thickness of sheet metal given as a "gauge" (sometimes spelled gage) and indicates the standard thickness of sheet metal and wire. For most materials, as the gauge number increases, the material thickness decreases.
The diameter of the 30 gauge wire is 0.255 mm and the cross-section is 0.0509 mm2. How many amps can 30 gauge wire handle? Because it’s so thin, the 30 gauge wire can handle only 0.86 amps. When connected to a 12V battery, the maximum wattage of 30 gauge wire is about 10 watts. Here is how a 30 gauge electric wire looks like:
Here is the full chart for all AWG gauge wires to mm: This chart is simple to use. Example: How many mm is an 8 AWG wire? 8 AWG wire is 3.264 mm. You can do this for literally AWG wire you need to convert to mm. You can check similar charts for: AWG to mm2 conversion.

AWG Copper Wire Table Size and Data Chart @ 100 Degrees F. The American Wire Gauge (AWG) measurement system was designed with a purpose: for every three steps in the gauge scale, wire area (and weight per unit length) approximately doubles. This is a handy rule to remember when making rough wire size estimations!
One thing should be noted about the AWG that the larger the integer, the smaller the thickness and diameter of wire. For example, the 14AWG size is a suitable wire for a 15Amp circuit breaker, whereas the 8AWG size is most appropriate for 40Amps of circuit breakers and load points.
