Schlüter-DITRA-DRAIN is a safe and per-manently effective passive capillary drainage system for floor assemblies. The material is installed in exterior areas into thin bed adhe-sive over a sloped waterproofing assembly, such as Schlüter-KERDI or other suitable proprietary waterproofing systems.
The size of floor drains is important as it affects the number of drains required and the amount of water which can be efficiently drained. As a general reference, floor drains should be sized to handle an overflow condition of water that may be discharged onto the floor. The chart below illustrates water outlets and the demand (GPM) requirements.
A relationship exists between depth and spacing of drains. For soils of uniform permeability, the deeper the drains, the wider the spacing (within limits). Higher permeability soils can have greater spacing. Need to provide adequate root depth above the saturated zone.
Items covered in the Water Management Drainage Handbook include specifications, structures, hydraulics, durability, installation, retention/detention systems, general technical notes, sanitary sewer systems, sanitary technical notes and a summary of standard specifications.
