23 Φεβ 2017 · Great track cleaning car you made. It's similar to the track cleaning car I bought from Pat's Trains (below), which uses one big pad with adjustable height/pressure, too.
So I borrowed an idea from the famous HO scale modeler, John Allen, and devised an outdoor/indoor track cleaning car. Unlike some commercially available contraptions, my track cleaner will clean even the dirtiest track.

13 Οκτ 2015 · I have subways which are mostly covered, so my CMX car is a great tool for cleaning my track. I use lacquer thinner as the solvent, which does work better than alcohol. I clean my track about 3 or 4 times a year. I need two engines consisted together to pull the CMX car.
2 Ιαν 2012 · How to do it: First you need to get all your equitement ready to do the Job. Then, get your Track Cleaning rubber and put a line of blue tack one each side of the rubber. Turn the flat bead upside down and stick the rubber to the bottom. Place it all on the rails and check the rubber touches the rails and cleans them.
8 Μαΐ 2018 · The manual lists the three modes of cleaning the model offers: vacuum cleaning - where small particles of dust are being sucked away without touching the track. wet cleaning - using the special fluid and a rotating soft pad to gently wipe the rail track. dry cleaning - which uses a sandpaper-like pad to remove the most problematic dirt.
1 Οκτ 2022 · Yesterday I installed one of these stock contact pads that come with a number of track cleaning cars, including those Roco ones I borrowed this one from. I had an Atlas rerailer mounted on a straight piece of test track I use to measure coupler heights.
