9 Νοε 2012 · If you have never used a four way tool post, strongly consider getting a quick change instead. Four ways are about the most useless and irritating thing on the face of the earth. They are not adjustable for height, save shimming under the tool.
16 Δεκ 2017 · Put your drill chuck in the spindle and drill a hole in the square stock length wise. Remove and add some set screws or split it with a hacksaw. For the set screws, you can do that with the square stock still in the 4 way, just turned 90.

22 Δεκ 2009 · The inexpensive 4 way tool posts just have 4 slots cut into the bottom of them with the indexing pin coming up out of the top of the compound. They work, but not as well as the 12 position ones. There is a 4 way tool post that has only 4 positions that was used on turret lathes.
