26 Ιουν 2020 · While standard 5.7x28mm ammunition will indeed be faster than standard pressure 115-, 124- and 147-grain 9mm loads, there are other 9mm loads to consider. For example, MagSafe’s 9mm 50-grain Mini-Glock load averaged a blistering 2,242 fps from my old Walther P1.
The 5.7x28mm cartridge possesses a smaller diameter than the 9x19mm Parabellum, but it compensates with a longer overall length. In terms of bullet weight, most 9mm rounds are available in either 115 or 124 grains, while the 5.7mm offers bullets weighing 40 or 27 grains.

11 Οκτ 2023 · 5.7×28 is and will always be a niche round. It’s fast and accurate but does not pack the stopping power of the 9mm, which already lacks the desired stopping power for some. For one, the round itself has a smaller diameter and weight.
