18 Νοε 2023 · There are some differences in dimensions between 6.5×55mm and 7mm-08 Remington cartridges. The diameter of a cartridge is important for gun compatibility. The diameter of a 6.5×55mm cartridge is 0.264 inches (6.7056 millimeters). The diameter of a 7mm-08 Remington cartridge is 0.284 inches (7.2136 millimeters).
Military 6.5x55 ammunition was loaded to a pressure of 3200 ATM which converts to 47008psi. Proof loads developed between 4000 and 4500 ATM which converted (x14.69) give pressures of between 58,760psi and 66,000psi.
6.5 Creedmoor vs 7mm-08. The 6.5 Creedmoor fires smaller diameter and more aerodynamic bullets than the 7mm-08 Remington. Both cartridges have a similar trajectory, but the 7mm-08 retains more kinetic energy than the 6.5 Creedmoor at typical hunting ranges while the 6.5 Creedmoor has less recoil.

5 Απρ 2008 · If you went with a 260 Rem you would have the same case as the 7-08 and the 6.5 bullet going just a bit faster than the 6.5x55. Also if you wanted to upgrade your velocity later, you could have the 260 rechambered to 6.5x284 using the same boltface as the 260.
For the options listed above (7mm08, 6.5x55, 308) it all pretty much comes down to a personal preference. Some are slightly better at longer (6/7/8/9 hundy) distances, some have slightly lighter recoil, some have a slightly larger range of projectiles to choose from... Share this post on.
