6 Δεκ 2019 · It has brake switch to disengage the torque converter and a vacuum switch on the firewall. In the other thread we discussed how this setup should work, and basically the conclusion was that it would probably only lockup in 4th gear, and the vacuum switch should disengage the lockup when under enough load.

17 Ιουλ 2023 · If any switch or sensor (or the solenoid itself) is open it breaks the circuit and the convertor will not lock-up. Also over the years I'm thinking that not all 700-R4 transmissions locked the convertor after they shifted to O/D.
16 Μαρ 2018 · With the engine running and 12 volts to the transmission, if the trans has already been converted, when the trans shifts into fourth gear this will also engage the torque converter clutch (TCC) to lock up.
1 Οκτ 2012 · Either can fail. the valve in the pump may be stuck. Installing a check ball in the end of the solenoid , then re-install the l/up solenoid back into the pump... this will cause the converter clutch to lock up with the shift to 2nd gear if the converter lock up is operating correctly.
4 Ιαν 2024 · The torque converter can lock on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears, but for some people, it is annoying. You can buy a kit to have lockup until 4th gear. The product is called the "55-92 Torque Converter Lock-Up Switch Update Kit."
7 Ιουλ 2017 · I use a toggle switch on the dash to control the ground for the TCC solenoid. Completing the ground will lock up the torque converter clutch. Breaking the ground will disengage the TCC.
