California State Parks is currently issuing 2024 Golden Bear and Limited Use Golden Bear passes. Online and Mail-in application processing for 2025 passes begins on December 1. In-person application processing begins in January. Call ahead to the Pass Sales Location to ensure availability.
Pass holder is required to present the Golden Bear Pass (photocopies not accepted) and a valid state-issued driver license or other suitable photo ID (interim/temporary not accepted) and pay any supplemental fees at the park.
The pass provides FREE entry at 200+ state parks and beaches. The passes for the current application process are valid for the 2024 Calendar year. The Department of Parks and Recreation (State Parks) supports programs to make sure everyone can enjoy California’s beautiful outdoor spaces .
