This document is a compilation of descriptions (grade descriptors) of each grade for each group of subjects in the IB Diploma Programme. Grade descriptors consist of characteristics of performance at each grade. The descriptors apply to groups of subjects but substantial similarity exists across sets of group grade descriptors.
A score of 8 out of 11 on a test, assignment or class is a 72.73% percentage grade. 3 questions were wrong or points missed. A 72% is a C- letter grade. A letter grade C- means satisfactory or average performance. The teacher may round up the 72.73% to a 73% for a C letter grade.

The table below shows the percentage uniform mark range for each grade: † In the case of the Cambridge International AS Level qualification, where there is no Grade ‘a*’, the percentage uniform mark range for Grade ‘a’ is 80–100.’. The percentage uniform mark is stated at syllabus level only.
