25 Ιαν 2015 · If your rear hatch light (interior light in back) doesn't work, or only works periodically, this is the part that you'll need to replace. That's why I replaced mine. Now the light functions properly.

Replacing this part on my 3rd gen 4Runner. If you have a socket set and screwdriver you should be able to do this repair.
19 Οκτ 2021 · So I just replaced the hatch latch assembly with the one below from Amazon. Now I finally have a working rear hatch which seems odd as it's been broken for 3 years or so. We'll see how long it lasts but the price was right to try it.
