7 Ιουν 2021 · After an OS update on my macbook pro, my Accent Menu is not working. When I press and hold a key that allows for accents (such as 'a') the letter just repeats. Try this which works for some people: open Terminal app and type. defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true. and then restart.
Press one or more keys to enter the accent mark, then press the letter you want to add the mark to. For example, to enter the accented letter ã using the ABC keyboard layout, press Option-N to enter a tilde ˜, then press the a key.
2 Ιαν 2023 · The accent menu worked perfectly fine on my 2017 MacBook Pro and now with this new 2020 with Big Sur, it's disappeared. No solution online (I've only seen 2) works. Going to Modifier Keys in System Preferences and making sure they're on Default does not work.
23 Σεπ 2016 · I've just got the answer to this from Apple. Go into Settings, Keyboard and make sure the Key Repeat slider is set to Slow and the Delay Until Repeat slider is set to Short. That fixes it. If the keyboard is working too fast, the menu won't appear.
20 Απρ 2023 · Press the number to choose the letter or select the letter using trackpad gesture or mouse. For example, if you want to type accented a with macron like ā, press and hold a key and then press 8 to select ā. If you want capital letters, use shift key when pressing and holding the letter key.

8 Απρ 2024 · Turn off Ignore built-in trackpad when Mouse Keys are on by selecting Trackpad Options. Increase the double-click speed. If this option is ticked, uncheck Ignore built-in trackpad when a mouse or wireless trackpad is present .
