Home: Houston, TX; Stadium: Sam Houston Coliseum (9,300) 1972-75, The Summit (14,906) 1975-78; Team synopsis: Most noteable for having Gordie Howe and his sons Mark and Marty. Original club, folded after six seasons, winning the Avco World Trophy twice and losing their third trip to the finals.
The Howes meshed perfectly with an already sound team, and the 1973-74 Aeros captured the league's best record at 48-25-5. Gordie scored 31 goals and 100 points to capture the league's Most Valuable Player award.
