Afro-Dominicans (also referred to as African Dominicans or Black Dominicans; Spanish: Afro-Dominicanos/Dominicanos Africanos, Dominicanos negros) are Dominicans of predominant or total Sub-Saharan African (Black African) ancestry.
Afro-Dominicans are Dominicans of African descent and the majority of the Commonwealth of Dominica 's population. Africans were initially brought to Dominica through the slave trade. Colonial records indicate multiple countries of origin for the slaves.
