Korean Drama "Lovers of the Red Sky" did not handle the fantasy element well, which cost it a lot. The story has a nice start, though the fantasy part was a bit sketchy and wasn't well explained, but at least there was room for improvement.

Its strength, however, comes from its line-up of actors who played their role – even the minor characters – really well.

Season 1 of Lovers of the Red Sky premiered on August 30, 2021. A poor fantasy that failed to establish a reasonable foundation from the very beginning, it even did a worse job with its brittle world building. The low budget visual effects weren't helping its case either.
I think it is one of the best fantasy historical kdrama. The production and the special effects are really (really) good. The fantasy part of concept is pretty new and fresh. The casts are pretty decent.
