7 Αυγ 2024 · Annular pancreas is a morphological anomaly that results in pancreatic tissue completely or incompletely encircling the duodenum. This condition can cause duodenal obstruction and is therefore important to recognize, as radiologists are frequently the first to make the diagnosis.
All cases of radiologically incomplete annular pancreas were diagnosed by means of visualization of an annular pancreas at ERCP (n = 6) or surgery (n = 3). 29 Μαΐ 2023 · Annular pancreas (AP) is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by partial or complete circumferential encasement of the second part of the duodenum by a band of pancreatic tissue during embryogenesis.[1] It is usually located above the papilla of Vater in approximately 85% of diagnosed cases.[2]

Patient Data. Age: 85 years. Gender: Female. ct. The pancreatic head has an unusual morphology, apparently encircling and narrowing the second part of the duodenum. The findings are consistent with annular pancreas. Solid intra-abdominal organs are otherwise normal. No free fluid or lymphadenopathy. Retroaortic left renal vein noted.
31 Οκτ 2018 · A contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen demonstrated the findings of congenital annular pancreas with pancreatic tissue surrounding the duodenum (Fig. 1). Inflammatory fat stranding was seen around the pancreatic head (Fig. 1).
Incidental finding of the pancreatic parenchyma encircling the 2nd part of the duodenum favoring the annular pancreas. The patient had no symptoms which may be related to the annular pancreas in the past. No previous CT scan of the abdomen was available to confirm the finding.
