7 Αυγ 2024 · Annular pancreas is a morphological anomaly that results in pancreatic tissue completely or incompletely encircling the duodenum. This condition can cause duodenal obstruction and is therefore important to recognize, as radiologists are frequently the first to make the diagnosis.
29 Μαΐ 2023 · Annular pancreas is a rare congenital abnormality that causes the encasement of the duodenum by a band of pancreatic tissue. Previously, this anomaly was noted on autopsies and abdominal surgeries, but with the emergence of newer diagnostic modalities, it has been recognized more regularly.
Duodenum. Shortest (25cm) part of the small intestine. Joins the stomach to the jejunum. Pursues a C–shaped course around the head of pancreas. Begins at the pylorus on the right side L1. Ends at the duodenojejunal junction on the left (L2). A retroperitoneal structure except 1st inch. Receives the opening of bile & pancreatic duct.

2 Σεπ 2020 · Annular pancreas is a rare congenital abnormality characterized by a ring of pancreatic tissue surrounding the descending portion of the duodenum. It is thought to originate from incomplete rotation of the ventral pancreatic bud.
20 Μαΐ 2022 · Annular pancreas is a congenital anomaly that can mimic duodenal wall thickening. It results from failure of migration of the ventral pancreatic bud, resulting in complete or incomplete encasement of the descending duodenum by pancreatic tissue, effectively effacing the PDG.
