This 40-minute to one-hour-long training provides information about the basic facts of suicide, including prominent risk factors, protective factors, and warning signs. This training explores the four-step process for preventing suicide: Ask, listen, respond, and follow up.
If you catch yourself using problematic language about suicide or mental illness, correct yourself out loud. By letting those around you know why your words were harmful, you can turn the conversation into a positive learning experience for everyone involved.
