Sqoop is an ETL tool for Hadoop,which is designed to efficiently transfer data between structured (RDBMS), semi-structured (Cassandra, Hbase and etc.) and unstructured data sources (HDFS).
Scoop downloads and manages packages in a portable way, keeping them neatly isolated in ~\\scoop. It won't install files outside its home, and you can place a Scoop installation wherever you like.
Installation ¶. Sqoop ships as one binary package however it’s compound from two separate parts - client and server. You need to install server on single node in your cluster. This node will then serve as an entry point for all connecting Sqoop clients.
