Yelp’s policies strictly prohibit compensated and incentivized reviews as they can mislead consumers. To help inform people’s spending decisions, we issue Consumer Alerts that appear over a business’s reviews to warn people when we discover suspicious review activity.

25 Απρ 2022 · The fraudulent reviews that result from these forums attempt to deceptively inflate online business ratings and review counts, creating false signals of quality and popularity. Not only do compensated reviews mislead consumers and create a disadvantage for other businesses, they’re illegal and need to be mitigated across all online platforms.
Yelp’s Consumer Alerts program warns people when we find evidence of extreme attempts to manipulate a business’s ratings and reviews.
