To be eligible for Texas teacher certification, candidates must complete a TEA approved educator preparation program (EPP) and hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).
To become a teacher in Texas, candidates are required to obtain a degree from an accredited university. Many programs offer a bachelor’s (or higher) degree alongside a teacher certification.
