4 Ιουν 2005 · Dayco timing belts are fine, for many Euro engines even the tensioner is reboxed brand name made in Europe. Small production runs makes it cheaper to rebox even OE than start a new line, probably not the same with Japanese or domestic stuff.

Gates is the more popular choice for a reason, but don’t underestimate Dayco either. While Gates timing belt kits and radiator hoses are better (thicker construction on the latter, great reliability on the former), Dayco serpentine belts are a worthy competitor.
7 Ιουν 2007 · Dayco Timing Belt Kits - 659FBE : Dayco timing belts are amongst the best. They pioneered the extra small slot in the tooth apex which allows for extra flexibility when a belt is fitted to a poorly engineered drive with too few teeth on the crank wheel.
As an auto tech of 15 years, I have used gates belts and kits with zero failures due to manufacturing. I have had problems with dayco drive belts in the past, and such have just leaned into gates for all belt concerns. The same goes for Conti timing belt kits. Good success with them as well.
9 Δεκ 2013 · A. Dayco’s lab tests have shown that Dayco belts are as durable and noise resistant as the competitor’s belt products. Since almost all belt suppliers use belt constructions utilizing EPDM rubber compounds, the flex life and overall durability of belts are very similar.
I just got a new timing belt and I’m just seeing now that it’s made in China. I’ve always been a big fan of Dayco but if I’m being honest I’m not thrilled to see they’re manufacturing in China. Has anyone seen any D ayco timing belt reviews recently or noticed any difference in quality themselves?
