I recently learned about the Armed Forces Vacation Club. I went ahead and made an account and was shocked at some of the deals available. Some places are going for $400 for a 7 night stay, and looking up the hotel it seems really nice.

Great choice, was close in proximity and had plenty of amenities. The trip itself went haywire for... reasons, but the hotel experience was top notch. I’ve used it on a vacation to Virginia Beach, pretty legit and lots of good deals.
Used it nearly 2 years ago for a place in Orlando right outside of Disney. I want to say it was less than $400 for the week. It was a really nice condo in a building that I assumed most people owned timeshares in. It was a solid experience. No hidden fees, no extra junk.
I picked a popular conus vacation destination that I've taken the ole fire squad to a few times and searched afvc for a week in may and then compared to hotwire. AFC had some really good rates, as low as 60 a night for very reasonable family accomodations; 350 a week a very good deal.
Really been wanting to go away recently, and someone suggested trying the Armed Forces Vacation Club, has anyone here tried it out? It seems a little too good to be true so hoping to get some honest replies, thanks!
Read the reviews on their site as well as other sites before booking. I've had two great vacation stays at resorts in the Caribbean through AFVC. If I recall correctly, one of the stays averaged around $54 a night, but the resort was fantastic. This was at least 10 years ago, before the hurricanes of the recent years.
TL;DR: Looks legit. The travel date must be planned for well in advance.
