14 Αυγ 2014 · To obtain a DA photo, Soldiers must be a first lieutenant or higher, a chief warrant officer 2 or higher, or a staff sergeant and above unless the Soldier is in the National Guard or Reserves.
In the Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard, officers and NCOs are expected to have a current DA Photo. The DA Photo is used to assess a soldier’s professionalism and appearance. In most cases, a photo is good for five years.
3 Απρ 2020 · Not yielding supposed benefits is bad enough, but DA photos’ potential to undermine the military’s meritocracy is even worse. DA photos may allow unacceptable biases to creep into board decisions and to wreak havoc on what should be a fair process.
I keep getting reminders from HRC to get an updated DA Photo, but they're not used for any official purpose. Why is this still a requirement? The only reason I can think of is that the Army is creating work to justify having photolabs on each installation.
Taking a DA Photo in about a week and a half, was wondering what tips and tricks the community has on the matter, or what common fails are out there with regards to DA photos. Appreciate your feedback.
