While weak to stab attacks, the Corporeal Beast has a very high Defence level. A common method to lower its Defence is to use the Elder maul, arclight and Bandos godsword 's special attack at the start of the fight. The Elder maul's special attack will lower the target's current Defence level by 35% on a hit.
tldr: crush bonus of elder maul is too low, buff crush to +156 or add 50% spec that ignores target's def lvl for the next attack. if you want to see calculations and stuff then read the wall of text. thanks for your attention!
