Prices for steel and diesel used in coal mining declined in 2020. The cost structure of coal mining is determined mostly by operating expenses such as mining cash costs (e.g. labour, fuel, taxes and royalties) and transportation expenditures (e.g. inland transportation, port fees and seaborne freight rates).
1 Μαρ 2003 · In Polish practice, steam-coal prices are calculated using a price formula in which coal price is a function of three quality parameters: net calorific value, ash content and sulphur content, and a price of ‘basic’ or ‘reference’ coal (which means: coal of defined quality).
15 Φεβ 2022 · Ash content of coal is an important indicator for coal quality, which is used primarily to determine whether coal is suitable for coking, power generation, or iron ore smelting in the production of steel.
The US, Canadian and European coal has relatively low ash content. The US and European coal is easy to clean, though most of the Canadian coal is not. Virtually, therefore, every country has its own unique pricing structure.
17 Σεπ 2024 · Coal ash (5.3 Gt) represents a mean of 10% of coal by weight, ranging from 6% for subbituminous to 14% for lignite. About 70% of coal ash is potentially accessible for rare earth element extraction (1985–2021) and was disposed in landfills and ponds with the remaining coal ash used onsite or sold.
28 Μαΐ 2022 · For coking coal, its behaviour in the blast furnace is the most important characteristic, and hence, coke strength after reaction (CSR) and coke reactivity index (CRI) are the main parameters when pricing. Like thermal coal, the content of impurities such as ash, sulphur and phosphorus is penalised.
13 Μαΐ 2024 · The sulphur and ash content were not to exceed 0.8pc and 15pc respectively, and volatile matter should be within 26-42pc, all on an air-dried basis. Russian exporters ofered high-CV coal in Taiwan at $112-115/t cfr over the past few weeks, while local consumers tried to bid at $107/t cfr.
