21 Οκτ 2012 · While playing the game if you ALT+TAB out then sometimes the game never returns to full screen mode. Also for some of my friends the game never switches to full screen. After some digging with Google I found the following fixes that worked for me and my friends: Fix #1: Simply select the game window and press ALT+Enter This usually works.
Using Ubisoft connect launcher to play the game. Installed yesterday and played fine and opened in full screen. Opened today and won’t open in full screen. Super annoying as there’s no setting for windowed, borderless or full screen etc.
These fixes can cause pop-ins since the animation sequences stop off-screen. For developers it's important that everything on screen is intended. Developers would have to check every cutscene at higher aspect ratios so these don't happen. This is a lot of extra work for a small user base.
Resolution is broken. Game initially loads in at 4k on my 1080p monitor and can only see the top left quadrant of the screen. Alt+Enter gets me to a windowed version and I can see the whole screen, but it’s windowed and only uses about 75% of my screen.

I'm afraid that given the age of the original Assassin's Creed, there's no native support for widescreen displays, so it isn't currently possible to force the game into a 21:9 aspect ratio. Sorry for any disappointment caused and if there's anything more we can help with, please let us know!
