I figured out a solution after messing around with the display settings. For anyone else having this problem all you need to do is go to your search bar, type in “Change Resolution of the display”, go to display resolution and set it to 1280 x 720. Boom full screen mode!
Alt+Enter just made the screen go black for a moment, and then it came back (accompanied by some flickering) in windowed. Only after a *lot* of Alt+Enters did it stay in full screen. Today... started in windowed, again, but just one Alt+Enter fixed it.
