You retain access to your MyASU and ASURITE ID indefinitely. If you graduated (completed a degree program NOT a certificate/minor), you will also retain you \@asu.edu email indefinitely iirc. Cases where you DO get GMAIL: Alumni- You retain your ASURITE ID/email indefinitely.
Adding, removing, or changing your @asu.edu email address or aliases: 1. Go to Manage your ASU email address. (If you are not already signed in to My ASU with your ASURITE ID and password, you will be prompted to enter both on the ASURITE ID log in page.)
To access My ASU, you'll need your ASURITE UserID and activation code. You can find your code in an email from computer.accounts@asu.edu with the subject "ASU Account Activation." ASU will send this email to the address you listed on your application. The code will also be listed on your ASU admittance letter.
However, with the new changes to Google quotas I do not believe that is the case anymore. I would highly recommend using Google take out to make a copy of everything that is in your ASU Google space. You can however keep using your ASU email address and just redirect it to a personal account.
You should be able to just go to gmail and sign in like normal. The email will be your first initial followed by your last name @asu.edu. when you type that into Gmail it should automatically redirect you to login to myasu and you sign in as normal.
