According to Article 36 of the Public Health Law, a home care services agency subject to licensure is an organization engaged in arranging and/or providing, either directly or through contract arrangement, nursing, home health aide or personal care services.
Home care is a health service provided in the patient's home to promote, maintain, or restore health or lessen the effects of illness and disability. Services may include nursing care; speech, physical and occupational therapies; home health aide services and personal care services.
The new Administrative Licensure Amendment process for Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs) has been finalized and will go into effect February 15, 2022. Please refer to the Dear Administrator Letter and the links below for additional information.
Limited LHCSAs are operated by the certified operator of an adult care facility (an adult home or an enriched housing program) to directly provide: personal care services and related nursing supervision which are not the responsibility of the adult care facility; and/or.
