It causes the rotor to spin as you wind the watch from the crown and makes winding the movement feel stiff and more difficult.

8 Μαρ 2018 · If you wind the watch by hand a lot, I would not delay in getting it fixed - you are only going to cause more problems by hand winding it. Note that this fault doesn't affect the ability of the watch to wind via the rotor.
automatic watches work by a rotor turning to wind the mainspring, but that does not mean that to wind the main spring it should be done via the rotor. if you were to only able to wind a watch by shaking it, it will likely break over time
5 Νοε 2022 · When I tried to manually wind the watch via the crown, it wound normally for 2-3 turns and then became more resistant and I could feel the rotor turn with each wind of the crown from then on. Does anyone have any insight to what's going on?
Start by removing the rotor, followed by the automatic winding module. Inspect the watch for damage from the helicoptering: such as metal dust and shavings, this can be as bad as broken teeth on pinions and wheels. If you are seeing metallic dust, the best course of action is a complete service.
