The Pennsylvania State Police Academy is widely considered to be one of the best state trooper academies in the nation. Training is regimented, demanding, and exhausting. It will test you physically and emotionally and is a life-changing experience.
Cadets are paid $22.00 per hour for 40 hours of work each week and receive benefits while in training. Cadets live at our academy five days a week for approximately six months of training. Cadets receive college-level instruction in Ohio laws, human relations, and crash investigation.
Basic Requirements to Become a Police Officer in Ohio. At least 21 years of age OR will reach that age by the completion of the academy. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Possess a valid Ohio Driver License. No felony convictions.
