Definitely could be an email error. Gap is also Old Navy, Athleta, Intermix, Banana Republic, Janie and Jack, and Hill City, if you've shopped at any of those places recently.
I received an email last night from Gap for an order confirmation. The credit card used had 4 last numbers that don't match up with any of mine. I checked my credit report and no new cards have been added. I was able to pull up the order on gap with the confirmation number.
