The total daily dose should not exceed 1600 mg sulfamethoxazole and 320 mg trimethoprim.
Patient’s weight: Mild to moderate infection: 8 to 12 mg TMP/kg/day PO BID (Max 160 mg TMP/dose) Dose based on Trimethoprim component.
