Learn about the Public Safety Cadet (PSC) program that is available to youth between 14 and 20 years old. Participation in this program is an excellent start to your career as a paid Baltimore County police cadet that is available to those between 17 1/2 to 20 years old.
Applicants for the Police Officer and Police Cadet job openings must meet the following qualifications. Must be age 21 upon graduating from our six-month police academy. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire. You can apply at 17 1/2 years of age.

To become a Police Cadet or Officer, you must successfully complete the following: Apply for Police Officer (21 years of age and older), Police Cadet (18 to 20 years of age) or Lateral Police Officer. If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be notified of your test date via email.
The Baltimore Police Department is currently hiring for Police Cadets. Cadets are aspiring Baltimore Police Officers who gain valuable law enforcement experience before meeting the minimum age requirement of Police Officer Trainee.
