10 Μαΐ 2022 · It's not the most user-friendly and works best on a desktop (non-mobile). Select Type: "Backcountry Camping," Park: "Banff, Kootenay and Yoho," your approx dates and party size. Then, I'd recommend using "On a Calendar" for the results. That will let let you see all of the available sites for your time frame.
I drive a small bus, and we visit a national park with people (not Banff). Upon entrance, I have to pay the fee for the bus and for each person on the bus. Those passengers cover the cost, either in a ticket price or as a separate payment, or any other method my company chooses. So, yes, bus passengers are paying a pass, one way or another.

15 Αυγ 2023 · There is a Glacier National Park of Canada that is a few hours west of Banff that is awesome as well, if you go there, do the Abbott Ridge hike for some of the most incredible views of huge glaciers and super jagged peaks. We just went in July to Banff, Kootenay, and both Glacier NPs and Glacier in Montana was my absolute favorite.
24 Ιουν 2021 · Ah. Then Banff. You get the exchange rate. And IMHO the Canadian park is better run. More spectacular mountains, and Banff actually has glaciers. I'd strongly recommend that you do it in conjunction with the other nearby Canadian parks: Kootenay, Jasper, and Yoho. Instead of Waterton or the US Glacier.
I'm from Canada and have camped numerous times in Banff, Jasper and GNP. Banff and Jasper while beautiful are whores. They both have cities in them!!!! I don't go to national parks to go to McDonalds or Old Spagetti Factory! In my opinion the US national parks are cheaper and way less crowded. They are tough to get reservations in though.
16 Ιουλ 2010 · edit: I would also recommend you drive the short distance from Lake Louise to get to Yoho National Park (like 30 minutes) and go see Takakkaw Falls. Pictures don't even do it justice. Water plummets off a cliff and free-falls over 800 ft. Here are links to park resources: Banff. Yoho. Check out the hiking maps and information.
