Students completing all certificate course requirements are eligible to apply for certification, by examination, from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (the National Registry), which is necessary to apply for certification or licensure from the Texas Department of State Health
You can use the DSHS online licensing service to apply for an initial, renewal, or upgraded certification/licensure. You can also use the service to update you address. Register as a new user. If you have previously registered using this system, it is not necessary to create another user registration to submit a new application.
This information is to assist you in scheduling your EMS certification or licensing exam. All testing for ECA, EMT, Advanced EMT and paramedic certification/licensure will be done through National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians at Pearson VUE testing sites.

AEMT exam. Successful completion of the NR EMT exam will make a student eligible to apply for the DSHS AEMT Certification. Entry into the AEMT program must meet the following: • Successful completion of the EMT Basic STC curriculum. • Documentation of current EMT Basic certification (DSHS) or NREMT Basic certification.

7 Ιουλ 2017 · The EMT Basic certificate program consists of two courses, EMSP 1501 (classroom and lab) and EMSP 1160 (clinical) for a total of six semester credit hours. Classroom instruction covers basic life support knowledge and skills criteria, clinical and field internship.
