The only caves around Salton Sea area. Open to users of all skill levels. It's south of the San Andreas Fault in an area known as Desert Buttes. The trail starts at an abandoned cafe in a ghost town named Durmid, close to Salton Sea.
4 ημέρες πριν · Bronson Canyon, or Bronson Caves, is a section of Griffith Park in Los Angeles that has become famous as a filming location, especially known for the "bat cave" scenes in the Batman TV series of the 1960s. It's an easy, off-leash, kid-friendly hike with much more strenuous extensions available.
10 Οκτ 2024 · The trail network is a mix of dirt roads and sandy washes, with areas for non-motorized and OHV recreation. It's a good idea to download the map before you go—the area is intertwined with various informal trails and many route options. This is desert terrain.

route include Bat Cave, Devil’s Spring, Green Lake Overlook, and the Boneyard, a complex maze of dissolved, Swiss cheese-like limestone rock. Watch for Iceberg Rock, a single 200,000-ton boulder that fell from the cave ceiling thousands of years ago.
Simply proceed up the road, take the first right, and climb the hill to the caves. These man-made caves remind me of a time in the past when Hollywood was coming of age, and Batman had one-liners instead of dark battles. It also has excellent views of the end goal of this hike, the Hollywood Sign.
