Selman Bat Watch Information. The Wildlife Department is pausing public visits to view Mexican free-tailed bats emerging from summer maternity cave. The Wildlife Department conserves the area’s healthy population of Mexican free-tailed bats and their sensitive habitat at the Selman Bat Cave.

The Ozark Cave Preserves are made up of three different properties protecting a combined 316 acres across northeastern Oklahoma. These preserves protect a limestone cave, rare bats and an underground stream where unique aquatic species can be found.
22 Μαΐ 2021 · Every summer, hundreds of thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats pour from the Selman Bat Cave at sunset to feed on insects. The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, through a random drawing, gives 75 lucky winners each Friday and Saturday night in July a chance to see it.
Bat Watch happens within Oklahoma's Alabastar Caverns Park. When you arrive, you get to take the very fun school bus to the management area. Once in the rolling prairies which are beautiful, you will settle in, and then as the sky turns to twilight, millions of bats will fly across your head!
