Small village within walking distance of Hilton La Romana resort. Very similar to other small villages near resort areas: a few small bar/restaurants, several shops selling tourist items most likely made in another country, and a pharmacy or two. Quite a few "vendors" trying to entice you to peruse their establishments.
A Map To Help You Out. We’re kind of covering two regions in this post: the city of La Romana (and surrounding beaches) and the region known as Bayahibe which stretches from La Romana and includes the East National Park.
Just 10 miles east of La Romana lies the fishing town of Bayahibe. Here, divers will find spectacular coral formations and three shipwrecks: the Atlantic Princess, St George and Coco. In the national park, nature enthusiasts will find lagoons and wildlife, including a variety of birds.
