This self-help workbook provides information and advice about self-harm. Most importantly, it gives some techniques and tools to keep yourself safe and help reduce self-harming behaviour as well as how to get support and what help is available.

A safety plan is a list of coping strategies and sources of support that your child can use before or during a self-harm or suicidal crisis. It should include: Coping strategies. Personal warning signs. Ways to stay safe at school. People or places that can provide a distraction. Trusted adults they can contact for help (Picture 1).
