17 Αυγ 2014 · In most states and Canada, the most popular bear bait is meat. Hunters are very successful in using beaver and roadkill, creating a great renewable resource for the environment. However, in Wisconsin, it is illegal to use any animal meat, fish, and even by-product, so that includes honey.
Bait for bear may be placed from April 15 through the end of bear hunting season. Bait must be enclosed and covered to prevent access to the bait material by deer.
I offer both hound hunts and bait sitting hunts in Zone A of Wisconsin. The hound hunts are on public land in northern Rusk and Sawyer counties. For bait sitting, I offer private land with enclosed hunting stands.
