17 Αυγ 2019 · A more open choke will give...at normal 16 yard trap distances....a larger effective pattern. If you don't need a larger effective pattern, if you always center the bird, then use Full, as it won't matter.

Yes, there is little room for error using a tighter choke, however, it will make you a better pointer/shooter in the long run. For singles and handicap, I shoot a .038" choke, and for doubles I shoot a .020/.034" choke setup....

22 Οκτ 2024 · Generally, a choke with a moderate constriction (such as a “modified” choke) is a good all-around choice for many shooting applications. Is a 1/4 Choke Cylinder Improved? A 1/4 choke is a choke with a relatively low level of constriction, similar to an “improved cylinder” choke.
What Choke Should I Buy? American Skeet - Ü0 (2 U0 for over/under guns) Trap: American Trap, Doubles - Ü1/Ü2. Singles: Ü2 – 16 yard line. Ü3 – for Handicap (17 - 27 yard line) Sporting Clays - typically a Ü0/Ü1, Ü1/Ü2 or Ü2/Ü2 combo. Ü0/Ü1 – for close targets inside 30 yards. Ü1/Ü2 – for “normal courses” out to 40 yards.
19 Ιουν 2024 · I shoot a Browning Citori CX, 12 gauge, 30" barrel over/under shotgun and right now have been using Federal Game Load Upland shells (1290 FPS, 7.5 shot) and using a Modified choke. I've tried using the same ammo with an Improved Cylinder choke also, as well as using 1145 FPS with a modified choke.
29 Σεπ 2020 · Does the modified choke do a good job on singles? I shoot fairly fast on the lesser angle targets an a little slower on the hard angles from posts #1 and #5. Will the modified choke give me nice solid hits?
