David has dead hard which is one of if not the best perk in the entire game. When it comes to looks and lore the Demogorgon is my go-to survivor. After you unlock some meta teachable perks I would say ace? Doesn’t he have like built in Iron will? or did that change.
Feng is probably the best survivor to start with, since her perks will teach you the basics, doing gens, aura reading, exhaustion. Imo Spark of Madness should be the free dlc on all platforms, not only console, instead of Lullaby of the Dark. Feng Min has 3 really good perks for begginers.
