He was already a god of death in action, motive and mind. But now he has the look to fit the part. He loses all humanity, he is only Kira. Even with Ryuk, he knows he’s been set up and is angry he was outwitted, not that Ryuk got him killed. He’s angry he lost, not fearing the end. In the manga, his personality is very much the same.
