If you want to check out the OG of Willamette Valley wines, go to The Eyrie Vineyards. They've been making wine there since the 60's. Another good spot to familiarize yourself with the area is Willakenzie Estate. They've got a great tasting room explaining the why and how of soil composition.
I am a fan of St. Innocent, Bergstrom, Cristom, Cameron (can't visit though, but go and pick yourself up bottle in PDX- Vinopolis), Drouhin, & Gran Moraine (chardonnay and sparkling is where it's at- even for a Kendall-Jackson owned winery).
Favorite wineries in Oregon to visit? I’m looking to spend a few days south of Portland, maybe closer to Salem, and looking for recommendations. I’m more interested in places doing something a little different versus just a beautiful location.
