12 Μαρ 2023 · A 20m Random Wire PackTenna is my antenna of choice. Or, as simple as it sounds, a lite 26 gauge speaker wire doublet, cheap, defiantly effective and efficient, up as an inverted ‘V’, as high as possible.
Portable resonant antenna for QRP designed for 40m to 10m bands. An EFHW antenna, built to also face the strong winds.
I used end-fed halfwave antennas for QRP portable with mixed success. They are good if you only have one support. I'm now using a 44ft doublet with a homebrew Z-match for multiband use, or a 20m dipole if I only take along the DSW20.
5 Δεκ 2019 · So far the best all around antenna I've found for performance and portability is a resonant end fed half wave using a 49:1 or 64:1 transformer with the radiating wire and guy string wound up in a plastic chalk line reel.
Now, if your vision of QRP includes taking the rig out portable, then you might want to read the Portable Antennas section, particularly Backpack Antennas for when weight is of critical importance. But those principles apply at other power levels as well.
Owing to the fact you are QRP, consider the higher efficiency antenna systems combined with ease of use and easy install, free standing and all bands is a good bonus.
