How long to take it for. If methotrexate works for you, you may need to take it for several years to control your symptoms. If you forget to take it. If your label instructs you to take it daily, double-check with your doctor that these are the correct instructions.
Like all DMARDs, Methotrexate takes time to work. Most patients start to feel the positive effects of methotrexate at 4-8 weeks, with maximum benefit at 3-6 months. Side effects can occur earlier.
