And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Verse 12. - Because iniquity shall abound ( πληθυνθῆναι , is multiplied ). The word rendered "iniquity" is ἀνομία , "lawlessness," general immorality and licence.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
1 As Jesus left the temple and was walking away, His disciples came up to Him to point out its buildings. 2“Do you see all these things?” He replied. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” 3 While Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately.
